Bias

A prejudice based on experience or world-view such as their reason for existence, current social standards, the markets they are in, their capital capability, level of knowledge or status, technological ability or need for self preservation (profitability).

Binary

The use of only two values - zero and one. Sometimes called Off and On. Sometimes called True and False.

Birthday Paradox

The probability that in a group of 23 randomly chosen people - 2 will have the same birthday. It is a paradox because although mathematically sound, it defies intuition.

Bit

Binary digit. The smallest unit of computerized data.

Bivariate Regression Analysis

Analysis of the strength of the linear relationship between two variables, one independent and the other dependent.

Optimization tactics which are unethical, deceptive and designed to trick either the visitor or the search engine.

Black Space

The business opportunities that a company has targeted and organized itself to capture.

Blacklist

A listing of bad or inappropriate email addresses or websites or spam.

Blanket Mortgage

A loan using two or more properties as collateral.

Blind Traffic

Low quality traffic resulting from misleading advertisements, spam or keywords of a different context.

Block Cipher

A symmetric key cipher that operates on a fixed group of bits (usually 64 or 128) term blocks with unvarying transformation.
