Google's translators attempt to capture the essence of the message in the written language and convert that to the translated language. They do not try to translate word for word.
Google understands that different cultures have different values and standards. A friendly , positive tone is sought in the translated results.
A particularly useful Google tool is located at google.co/translate_t. Translations of text or web pages is available . English may be translated from or into Arabic, Chinese simplified, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Russian. Also French can be translated to and from German. Arabic is an especially nice feature, since Arabic is not found on most other language translators.
